Quite possably there is a langauge barrier somewhere as i and others have
explained to you what to do for, untarring archives as well as, Reading The
Manuels, which are files called INSTALL, README and the likes, they contain
"spesific" instructions on HOWTO configure, compile and install programs.

I cant say i quite understand you here, but if a file is a ".pdf" file then
abdoe should be able to open them and let you read them from within abdoe.

Why use ANY built in program to start another, simply type
/usr/local/Acrobat4/bin/acroread &
in a xterm window, when abdoe starts you then click
file > open
you can then "navigate" in the same way you do with other X programs to
choose your file(s).

Ah!, a Bill Gates enorientated problem, this happens with image files as
well created by certain windows programs, as to howto get them into a Linux
readable format i dont know, i do not bother with stuff like that, someone
else will possably have more information on howto do that for you.

It sounds "very much" to me as if they were created by a windows program,
like i said, another one of Bills protectionisum tricks.
