Eugene, FWIW, http://en.community.dell.com/blogs/direct2dell/archive/2009/12/17/dell-and-order-delays-before-the-holidays.aspx There is a lot of reaction to this blog post about delays, so, if they're deleting comments, they haven't been keeping up on them all ;} My work place uses thousands of dell servers and desktops and we've noticed some recent delays, but the delays aren't just specific to Dell; i think this may be a global issue (however Dell fits into that ranking is the question) (All in all, we are quite happy with Dell's products) I ordered a Dell S2409W monitor which came with free 2-day shipping 2 weeks ago. The monitor may have had free 2-day shipping, but Dell didn't send it for 3-4 days after i ordered it. I own a LOT of Dell equipment at home (PE1800, PE400SC, Dim8300, Dim4700, PowerConnect 2716, Inspiron 6000, monitors, etc), and am for the most part happy with it (let's NOT talk about the shi-tastic CERC6 controller in the PE1800 i replaced with a 3WARE 9500), so i'm not personally willing to jump-ship over this issue at this time. I have to wonder if this is currently, or soon will have dramatic impact on the technology sector: http://seekingalpha.com/article/180855-rare-earth-metals-will-spike-higher-in-2010 --stephen -- Stephen Dowdy - Systems Administrator - NCAR/RAL 303.497.2869 - [email protected] - http://www.ral.ucar.edu/~sdowdy/ _______________________________________________ Linux-PowerEdge mailing list [email protected] https://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-poweredge Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq
