One thing to consider is, that Perc6/e with most recent FW is able to handle
multipath to MD which Perc5/e doesn’t. Keep in mind that MD1000 has two
modes -> split + joint bus. You can only use 2x Percs connected to MD in
split mode.

Are you saying you can use two ports on a PERC6/e to connect to an MD1000 in
split mode? But that'd still fail if either link failed, assuming you had an
array that spanned both sides, right? Is the alternative unified but with a
active/passive?
I was working on the assumption that active/active in unified wasn't
supported, is that right?
