to mitigate the risk of a power outage leaving the cache with unwritten data
we run the machine with 2 x ps going to different pdu/circuits/breakers. i
know others run it with local UPS. seems like the only alternatives
available.

that's a really good suggestion ; i don't think there is any such in the
market ?!
