I'd just like to thank you guys for the detailed discussion of Sideways' connection
problems. I have had this [almost] exact same problem for a couple of weeks and now,
after reading a few choice posts by Geoffrey and Andreas, I can finally make a PPP
connection to my ISP using my Linux box. I recognized the problem from seeing
Sideways' logs, so I'm glad he posted them here so I could see the ensuing analysis.
Thanks again for filling in the details that the PPP HOWTO and FAQ neglect. It was all
in the options. :)
