Kern 2.0.35 pppd 2.3.5

Does anyone know how good running 2.0.35 k ernel with its bog stock ppp
that cant with the kernel src from kernel.org, Will run if i use pppd 2.3.5
binaries /usr/bin/pppd (2.3.5) with the kernel running the 2.2.0 that came
with the src?

If anyone atleast makes sense of what I'm saying, is it workable?
