Yes, but why not upgrade the kernel ppp stuff, too?
Subject to the ever-repeated caveats: the wrong direction of the
inequality in linux/ppp.c line 3079, and the failure of "make
kernel" to replace the kernel's ppp-2.2.0 ppp.c, with ensueing
pandemonium when you try to compile the kernel ...
