i'm using a 3Com 3c509b in a 2.0.1 slackware linux. the compilation of the
kernel with that drive occured like a charm.

when i boot the machine i see:
eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag 1, BNC port, address 00 20 af a9 b5 2f, IRQ 10.
3c509.c:1.07 6/15/95 [EMAIL PROTECTED]

when i --> cat /proc/ioports i see:
0000-001f  :  dma1
0020-003f  :  pic1
0040-005f  :  timer
0060-006f  :  keyboard
0080-009f  :  dma page reg
00a0-00bf  :  pic2
00c0-00df  :  dma2
00f0-00ff  :  npu
01f0-01f7  :  ide0
02f8-02ff  :  serial(auto)
0300-030f  :  3c509         <-----
03c0-03df  :  vga+
03f0-03f5  :  floppy
03f6-03f6  :  ide0
03f7-03f7  :  floppy DIR
03f8-03ff  :  serial(auto)

but when i --> cat /proc/interrupts i see:
0:      236215   timer
1:         406   keyboard
2:          0   cascade
13:         1   math error
14:      7283 + ide0

where is IRQ 10?

do you have some hint, Dan?

tanx,
