The only replies I got were from two people who sent me attachments:

What am I supposed to do with that? I have no idea.
Anyway, I am using a native Linux partition with a 32-megabyte swap partition.
So I don't think UMSDOS is to blame for the delay.
Maybe I can find the email address of the person who wrote pppd
He's probably too busy to reply however. I'll keep trying.
