Thanks very much for you guys' kind reply on my first question.
Well, this is the second qustion.
I exactly did all based on the "HOWTO-INSTALL-pppd-in-Linux" and
you guys' suggestions. However, when I dial up from my home-computer
(with windows-98) to my-office-server-machine(with RedHat 5.1) after
the pppd installation, I found no response from the server-machine in
my office.
Is it possible that the HARD-connection leads these problems? I
connected a modem(Practical Peripherals PM14400FXMT) to the server-
machine through COM2 port. Is it wrong? or any configure-file for
pppd-server to define these kind of HARD-conection?
By the way, if I dial up (from my home) to another commercial
unix-server, everything is ok. So it seems no problem for my home-
machine's setting.
