I am having problems dialing from my 3Com Impact IQ dialing into a Ascend Pipeline 50. I am able to dial into a Livingston Portmaster just find with the same configuration. I get this from the pppd with debug on: Apr 6 18:12:49 dockmaster pppd[16503]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS0 Apr 6 18:12:50 dockmaster pppd[16503]: sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x6d26abda> <pcomp> <accomp>] Apr 6 18:12:50 dockmaster kernel: ppp: write frame, count = 24 Apr 6 18:12:50 dockmaster kernel: FF 03 C0 21 01 01 00 14 ...!.... Apr 6 18:13:20 dockmaster pppd[16503]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests However on the pipeline I only recieve: > wannext 64 Display the first 64 bytes of WAN messages for the NEXT call -----RECV-26:: ?RAW (3 bytes) -- decoding as PPP ** Unknown protocol 0801 [0000]: 08 01 7f ... [0000]: 08 01 7f ... # many more of these too... When I dial with my Windows 98 computer I get and look at the pipeline I get: > wannext 64 Display the first 64 bytes of WAN messages for the NEXT call > RBAD-31:: 1 octets @ 2627DC [0000]: 78 RECV-31:: 34 octets @ 262DF8 [0000]: ff 03 c0 21 01 02 00 1e 05 06 02 8d 8e a1 0d 03 [0010]: 06 11 04 05 dc 13 0d 05 35 34 31 34 38 32 34 32 [0020]: 35 31 >From what I can see it looks like the pipline 50 needs a 78 octet before it can recieve the lcp configuration. I tried to talk to Ascend tech support, but I could not get anyone on the phone that knew what they were talking about. I have been working on this problem for about a month and would love to hear some type of solution.
