I change nothing when i use (try to use) pppd on 2.2.x (BTW, 2.2.x means
2.2.9 now) EVERYTHING is the same.

Yes, i installed 2.2.9 and pppds >= 2.3.5 to some friends of mine and
worked perfectly in every case.

I forgot to mention that my linux box is and old AMD 486 DX4 100mhz VESA
LB. May the problem be the old serial hardware?
