No, I never posted that one as far I rememer.
With the old 2.0.36 kernel ppp works fine. After starting it I get
with
cat /proc/interrupts
0: 1325499 timer

So it seems to me taht the modem is at IRQ 4.
But this IRQ is free under kernel 2.2.10 ...
