I wrote a report few days ago, but no answer!
If I ran pppd-2.3.8 from shell, it gives me:
sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0xe0361859> <pcomp> <accomp>]
but pppd-2.3.9 gives me:
sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <auth pap> <magic 0x73fe202b> <pcomp> <accomp>]
As you can see, PAP is not an option in 2.3.9. It's enabled by default!
Why this modification?
Every leased line that I have must configure pap-secrets to
<* * "" *> to work!
But are many dial-up clients that use Linux, and I can't force them to put
this string in pap-secrets. It works till now!
I use ppp-2.3.9 (last version, not pre with patch1). The same with
2.3.9pre.
Please, help me!
