yeah...the ppp howto is kinda incomplete to some extent...

key points...
- make sure your kernel supports PPP and you have "IP_Forwarding"
- use miniom to dial into your server and see if it answers
- use mgetty or uugetty to asnswer the phone ( defined in /etc/inittab )
- setup the configuration files for mgetty or uugetty
