Check mgetty, it has an AutoPPP feature that is quite cool.
So, compile a kernel with ppp support, install mgetty, install pppd (then
optionally sendmail etc if the machine is to send mail from dialled-up
users etc).

Subject: ppp dial-up server
I am trying to configure a dial-up server on my Linux box. I was hoping
that
everything would be described in the ppp-howto but the lates version if
from
March '97 and it basically omits the ppp-server setup. Where can I get such
info?
I also went briefly thru serial-howto and while I learned thing it did not
help much. Or should I read it all?
