Greetings: Not sure if this the proper forum or if my problem is
with PPP or Sendmail.. ( Or yours truly <grin> )
Linux 2.0.36 - Sendmail 8.8.8 - pppd 2.0.0 on two almost identical
machines with the same sendmail.cf file in each machine.
Dialing and connecting to the ISP no problem - fetching mail no
problem - invoking sendmail with messages in the mqueue gets sent
immediately, plus or minus net choke of course, from one machine,
whereas the other one takes up to 3 minutes and sometimes time out,
before sending.. Using 'sendmail -q -v' in all cases..
None of the debug, adm, log messages give any kind of a clue.. I've
tried two different modems in the "slow" one with the external one
showing me sending TD data and some RD data, but nothing happening
until the long time delay.. Same telephone line for both..
Where do I go from here? Any suggestions - comments?? Appreciate!
