I have patched ppp-2.3.5 rpm that I created for my system so it would log the
AutoPPP dialin in the utmp file. There are some extra scripts in it that
install in the /etc/ppp directory (timelogging). They are initialized via the
auth-up/down scripts in the ppp process, so the rpm has some altered
initscripts, so you may need to use the --force option to install it.
