The ATAPI protocol stinks. The biggest problem is the inability to have
multiple outstanding IOs per channel, and per device. The CPU use is much
higher for EIDE. Unfortunately, most benchmarks don't simulate real world
usage, like multiple, random outstanding IOs. Please don't post your
"bonnie" scores here, unless your application is to run bonnie all the
time.
