I am inclined to agree - on closer inspection, each of the IBM, HP and
Compaq have all sorts of issues when Linux comes into the equation (the HP
has I/O issues whichever platform you use)..
We have a supplier nearby who can supply me with a High Availability, High
performance solution - I don't know if I'll use Adaptec SCSI cards though, I
thought they could cause problems - which cards would you recommend? We
want to use hardware RAID 5...
Thanks for the info guys.. these badged machines are a real headache! It
looks like HP are actually going to take the LH4 back...I'm sure for normal
database driven web-sites they are OK, but bring heavy writes into the
equation and they're not up to the task!
