Most disk drives are well behaved - it's pretty hard to kill them other than
pulling their power while the firmware commit is in progress. If you send
bad data or segment info most of them just return an illegal request.
On the other hand, it is VERY easy to turn a DLT tape drive into a door
stop!
So, it's better (less dangerous) than it was a few years ago, but there are
still opportunites to learn expensive lessons!
