I've got one running off an old Adaptec 2940UW controller. I think sync
and wide negotiation left on. jumpers on the 4416S left at defaults
(except scsi ID set to 3)
never had a glitch (except for a cdrecord bug not handling wide
controllers right)
Get standard 2+ MB/s reads from it, and 4x burns work great (even with
rc5 and an egcs building running in the background) and the cdrecord
buffer rarely drops below 100% -- on a dual P-166...
Now the hard drives I am burning the image from are on a different
controller (A DPT).
no special settings in mkisofs or cdrecord.
