I moved the Adaptec adapter to *all* available slots and removed *all*
other cards (there was an additional VGA-card in it, now I'm using the
on board VGA).
Nothing helps :-(.

There is no PCI. It's just an old ISA board.

Strangely enough id was running once in the first slot I putted it in
together with the external Compac-VGA-adapter and Compac-Network-Adapter.
The exact restore of this configuration as well as removing all Compac
cards refuses to work now.
Also I played around with the eight mini switches labeled S1 on the
adapter. The only effect I detected is that if they are in position
x x x x
the floppy-disk controller of the Adaptec is used (it works perfectly !!!)
and in the position
the internal floppy-disk controller is used. If any of the left switches
is moved up the box refuses to boot.
Also there is an empty Jumper connector with four pins labeled J1.
Is there any chance to get it working with this beast?
Kind regards
Andreas.
