I asked about this a while ago and thought maybe someone can help this
time.

I have a Sony SDT9000 tape drive, things seem to work okay when writing to
the tape but when I try to read back it starts alright and then bombs out
part way through. Last time I tried it out it was hanging the machine. but it didn't
this time, the only change is that I turned on parity and disabled term power.
The controller is and Adaptec 2940U2W, which also has three harddrives of varying
brands all working fine.

the drive has been sent back twice, the first time they returned and said it worked
fine and the second time they replaced just for the sake of pleasing me. So I am
fairly confident that the drive is fine.

I also have a Seagate STD2240000N which is currently being used in the same machine,
and works fine.

Anyway hope someone can help, Thanks.
