I have looked for answers, and found none. Now I turn to you. (Don't you
wish everyone helped themselves first?)
We have a subnetted range using 255.255.255.224. Of these subnets we want to
use DHCP for 64, 96, 128, 160, and 192. The server is on the 64 subnet.
RH6.2 with one network card. dhcpd setup. DHCP works with one subnet fine.
When I configure DHCPD for the subnets the card is NOT assigned to, it says
"This subnet is not associated with any network adaptor (basic host
information). ...IP numbers in this subnet will be allocated using dhcp
relay..."
I have tried assigning aliases to the card that are in the other subnets but
it still says the same thing.
How do I allow other subnets to be allocated by one linux server?
I have more details if needed.
Thanks kevin

Hi
I know that several posts have been sent and replied to on this subject
but none have sorted out my problem. If anybody can help, please do -
I'm going nuts here!
I have installed RedHat 6.2 which provides Apache 1.3.12.
I have tried to access my web site (using the sample file in
/home/httpd/html/index.html) and get the following reply from my browser
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
The /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file seems to be OK as far as I can make
out. I tried the original with just changing things like the ServerName
and ServerAdmin settings.
All directories from / to /home/httpd/html have been chmod'd to 755 and
all files in /home/httpd/html are 644
the user and group are nobody. All these directories and files now
belong to "nobody" - both user and group. As does the httpd.conf file.
No good.
Everything is now in the httpd.conf so the srm.conf and access.conf are
empty apart from a directive for the piranha directory in access.conf.
Anybody got a clue to help me out?????
many thanks
Peadar

Maybe this can help; have a look at the thread:
http://smash.gatech.edu/archives/ale/current/0171.html
BTW, I have a Smart-UPS 650 using RH 6.2 and the apcupsd daemon.
Works great (with cable 940-0024c).

If you install RedHat (current is 6.2) with the bootnet.img floppy,
you have the choice between NFS, FTP and HTTP (NFS works best IMHO).

hmmm... not much of a solution.
You might want to check out 'xfstt' - true-type font server - will give you
the ability to use true-type fonts in Linux.
Also... if you happen to have a multi-boot machine with Windows... and you
have your Windows system partition mounted... you can just make a symlink to
point to your Windows font directory to make use of them.

Comment out the identd line in /etc/inetd.conf as your identd daemon
is started seperately by the system outside of the inetd daemon. To
verify this, see if you have a file /etc/rc.d/inet.d/identd.

Mandrake comes with xfs, which does the same thing, more or less:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/FDU.html (Font De-uglification)
http://home.c2i.net/dark/linux.html#ttf

I've calmed down now, LOL.
I'm not sure why the rescue wouldn't work either. I'll try Slackware I
guess.

Yes, although a better way is to propogate root's identity.pub to
authorized_keys for all of the machines (see 'man ssh-keygen' & RSA
authentication).

xfstt really works great,
However be sure to read the faq carefully wich is included in the
package.
Make sure to start xfstt before you start the X server, because if you
don't the x server won't start at all. I just added:
/usr/X11R6/bin/xfstt --sync
/usr/X11R6/bin/xfstt &
in boot.local
Then choose one of the truetype fonts in the Netscape preferences and
everything will start to look a lot better.
