Did you try startx, or startx --bpp 16??
if that didn't work it's probably a resolution problem, but you said it
can't even detect your screen???
Anyway in Red Hat distribution, I don't know about others, all the
configurations are done in:
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config, and you should change your screen
configuration, you can put any resolution you want, here, I'll send you
what I have, take a look at it, hope that helps, I can't think of anything
else. What screen do you have??

GRUB will not have a problem if Linux is installed > the 1024 cylinder
limit. I have read messages that "newer" versions lilo do not have the 1024
cylinder limit, what version I do not know.
My personal experience is with Mandrake 7.0 and 7.1. 7.1 has grub and is
free from the 1024 cylinder limit.

Subject: How to Convert Document to Fax
Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2000 14:37:18 -0500
I need someone to tell how to convert a document from an application
(for example, like Star Office) to a file that I can fax using mingetty
fax application. I can't seem to find that in the man pages. Man pages
for g3cat seems to imply that GhostScript offers a digifax driver.
Mingetty related man pages do tell me how to fax a file already in a
facsimile format. So, I only can receive faxes. At the very least, I
need something that can convert documents to a facismile format (without
doing "snapshots" of my open documents in their applications). My hope
is to find a way to install a printer driver for a fax device. Please
teach me how to fax something in Linux.

Subject: Sendmail
From: Chris Wagner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2000 19:43:18 GMT
I am not familiar with Linux and have recently gotten involved with
networking and administration. I have recently installed Caldera OpenLinux
2.4 on a Pentium MMX system and am wanting to setup this box to serve mail
internally and for internet. I downloaded sendmail config options from
support.calderasystems.com and followed the FAQ step by step, but it still
does not work. The machine has its own unique IP set and all sendmail
options are configured to use POP3(tcp) for the MTA. I created a dummy
domain as suggested by Caldera for my local machine and pointed all systems
on the network to this domain, though none of the systems can see the linux
box. I have a peer-to-peer network with 4 macs and 5 pc's running PCMacLAN
using NetBEUI. Does this have anything to do with the problem? I guess I was
assuming that since the protocol being utilized by sendmail was not
platform-dependent that if I set the protocol as default on the clients that
it should have worked. I know sendmail is working locally on the box, as I
can check users mailboxes, access new messages, etc. I just can't see others
on the network.
I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge about networks. I am simply
looking for a better and simpler setup to use pop3 mail internally and have
gathered from many that sendmail is not easy at all to configure and deploy.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

The main problem is that the RPM you have is compiled for an i386. Mandrake
is compiled for a i586 or better. You should be able to find an i586 RPM on
www.rpmfind.net Look for RPMs that have i586 in it's name and you should
be good to go!

Which exact loadlin command line do you use?
Note that hdb2 is the swap partition according to your description.
You could install Lilo to hdb1, copy the boot sector of that partition
to a file, and use the file with the Windows 2000 boot program.
