I'm aware of that.
But why should you care?
Have you read the NT loader howto?

Well, that's exactly what I'm doing, so I've replaced my Realtek 8029
with my ISA-NE2000 and now it works (also on IRQ10).
Thing is, my SBLive now says it's IRQ is in use, but it's the only
PCI-card remaining in my PC now :(

Hi,
I've just did a download of the 7.0 distribution of Suse from their
website.
Everything is copied in the root-directory of my E:\ drive.
I tried to do the setup.exe from dosm and after a few steps, he is
executing loadlin with the kernel e:\suse\images\k_i386 but he is
looking for e:\suse\images\initdisk.gz.
Unfortunately, this initdidk.gz file doen's exist. I've searched for it
in other directories, but I cannot find it.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks
Jim

Basically all you need is a backup of /root (and maybe /boot)
Just mount the mirror partition to /mnt/root_backup
Now `cp -ax / /mnt/root_backup`
Now /mnt/root_backup is identical to /root, and you can use it to boot
your system
Specify linux root=/dev/hdaX at the lilo prompt, where hdaX is the root
copy.
If the FS on /root gets corrupted, use the second root FS.
IMO it is far more important to back-up the user data.
Get a tape device for that.
If you want RAID, I can't help you. I've never used it.

To reserve IRQ for an ISA card , reserve this IRQ in the BIOS for
legacy ISA.
This way any PCI device will stay away from it

New System with ABIT KT7 RAID BOARD and AMD THUNDERBIRD 800MHZ CPU
I am thinking about building a new system using a ABIT KT7 RAID BOARD
and a AMD THUNDERBIRD 800MHZ CPU to run redhat 7.0.
I would like to here comments on the above hardware

DOS has a 2G limit on FAT partition size
DOS/BIOS has a 8G addressing limit.
Since the 7MB partition is within 8G limit , you must be able to get
NT4 into multibooting DOS from it.

I have an account at AT&T's Global Network. Is it possible to connect
to it using Linux or am I stuck with Windows?
I have been searching for more info about the subject, but without
success. What I need is a URL to a HOWTO or a detailed description of
how to connect to the "Global Network".
Thanks in advance.
