If your goal is to be a client for the net (Like web browser, ftp download,
etc...), you can do it,
but if you have servers (like a web server etc...), I think you can't have
redundancy and load
balancing only with two independent lines.
You need your ISPs to cooperate. They'd have to set up a BGP between your two
lines.
May be your ISPs require you to change your current IP addresses.
Please, if your ISPs don't ask you to change your IP address, let me know the
name of your ISP.

It seems that the double buffer extension (dbe) module of XF86 has a
problem with your graphics card.. I can't say what, but it might work if
you just tell X not to load it..
So, as root, open the /etc/X11/XF86Config file, and find the line saying
Load "dbe"
and comment it (put a # in front of it).
save the file and start X

You probably haven't installed the rpm with the linux source. That's
all. If you need it, either install the rpm, or download the source at
one of the mirrors of http://www.kernel.org

it say that :

mount: according to mtab, /dev/hda5 is already mounted on /
what can I do?

These "Linux for Dummies" books are a good start. Or, if you get the SuSE
distribution (version 7.1 is just out) they come with an excellent
documentation. Also good: the O'Really book "Linux in a Nutshell" but this
is more of a reference when you have a running system.

Hi All, First: THANKS!
Thanks to Pavan for posting his config and pointing out that the 2.4
kernel treats devices differently. I now have a 2.4.2 kernel running on
Mandrake 7.2 (albeit without USB and sound right now). The key that Pavan
provided was the CONFIG_DEVFS_FS . This is 'bad boy' that was giving me the
'lun0' crap that the e2fsck did not understand and therefore would not
mount. After that adventure, it seems my NVidia GeForce2-MX video card did
not like to have the 'nvidia driver' enabled either. My aureal card has
stopped working, so I'm working on that next. I believe the drivers for
that have not caught up to 2.4.2 yet. I took the advise also and have
retro'd to 2.95, instead of the 2.96 (Why did someone put that in the
/Documentation/Changes anyway.....DUH!). Us newbies take that CHANGES as a
bible, and to put crap like that in there to trip us up is a huge pain in
the ass.
My mandrake 'aurora' stuff still works, and my realtek 8139b NIC and
PromiseATA/100 now work on the same IRQ10/Slot2 on my ASUS
A7V/512MB/Athlon1.0Ghz (yeehaw!). In addition, my HD's come up in 32bit/DMA
mode and rock. Very Fast at 66. I also did the APM so that the RTC would
do GMT (cool). And for the people doing this since 1.0 (1994), I've printed
a 'color document' from my HP 612C, and can scroll my MS PS/2 wheel mouse in
Netscape 4.76 (unbelievable is it not?).
If I only had 'not' enabled that DEVFS setting, I would have been up and
running two weeks ago. Apparently alot of people do not enable that, and
therefore get a kernel up and wonder what's wrong with 'these' other people.
Thank you all for the help, and I now know more about binutils, e2fsck,
gcc.296, mrproper, make xconfig, make modules, than I ever wanted to.
I'm putting my .config here to help anyone else. Just do a side by side
match, and change what you think might help. The FB console stuff was
another gotcha!.
