Gone through the screens and choosen what appears to be the correct monitor

and asks me to go back through the settings.
I've tried multiple types of settings even custom with Std vga @ 640x480 but
still same problem.. I'm now at a loss on what to try news
Below are my monior and graphic cards specs...
Any suggestions, help, or advice would be greatly recieved..

I got a quick question I'm sure someone can answer; I have a partition

Hello,
I am a newbie to Linux and I would appreciate all the help I can get from
all of you. I have setup Redhat Linux 7.1 on my company network. I can ping
all the host on the network but I was not able to ping any external host. I
was also not able to get to the Internet. Currently, in our Windows and Mac
based network, all we have to do is to put in the Static IP, Subnet Mask,
default gateway, and DNS IP addresses in order for us to be able to get to
the Internet. I was trying to do the same for the Linux server that I had
set-up but was not successful. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Mark,
From what I remember when reading the linux kernel mailing lists, the
new 2.4.X kernels need 4 times the amount of memory in swap space. IE 128MB
of memeory needs 512MB swap.

Ok. Here's 64 dollar question. There is a permission problem with my
cdroms. In Mandrake 8.0, the cdroms are supermounted (automount) for all
practical purposes. I get little green icons telling me that they are
mounted but I can't access them (GUI or command line). In the GUI file
browser Konquerer there are locks on my cdrom(IDE Plexwriter) and
cdrom2(IDE Kenwood 42x). They both worked great until I tried to do some
scsi emulation b.s. (I just call it that because it's been problematic
lately) . That didn't work and I restored my old fstab (to get rid of the
scd0 device link. Since then I can't access them. Here's where it gets
weird. I created new folders in /mnt called plexcdrom and kenwood and
changed my fstab to reflect that. Upon reboot, the cdrom and cdrom2
folders were unlocked, but as you could imagine due to fstab, my cdrom's
were not there. They were linked to /mnt/plexcdrom and /mnt/kenwood. Yup,
you guessed it, there were now locks on those. I am left to believe that
the system does not realize I am root and is locking me out of those
devices for some reason. If anyone can shed light on this I'll be your
best friend for 2 or 3 days. I have thoroughly searched the newsgroups for
an answer. Many people have this problem, but no fixes. Below is my fstab
FYI

Since the original Redhat install put it in /usr/lib/netscape, why move
it somewhere else? I've already used rpm to remove 4.72. It seems if I
were to do that that any future OS upgrade with an included newer
Netscape would put again it where the original install did, which would
mean a duplication via using /usr/local/netscape for the non-rpm
install.

I don't think (what do I know) permissions may have been as much a
problem as the undefined owner and group, which are now what they were
before. Rpm uninstall left behind the shell script /usr/bin/netscape. I
renamed that and changed the desktop object to point to
/usr/lib/netscape/netscape, which is the 4.77 executable. I also removed
the .old files left behind by the repeat install. Once these things were
done Netscape started right up.
I do have a followup question. Netscape pops up a window saying can't
locate home.netscape.com yadda yadda if ppp isn't up when Netscape is
opened. That's easy to understand. What I don't understand is why, when
Netscape has already been opened and does not point to anyplace set to
auto refresh, does the same popup show after ppp has been closed?

Check out the mount command. You'll also need to know what device those
partitions are on. I mount my Windows partition using "mount /dev/hde1"
(w/o the quotes). Many times, you can get them automatically loaded at
startup if you configure the /etc/fstab file correctly.
To unmount, use umount. Check out the man pages for more info.
