I have a couple dozen 2300's working nicely under linux (only 2
SMP) -- you need to have a *very* recent kernel to use the
AIC-7890 chipset (2.0.36 -- not sure if Redhat 5.2 has the driver
or not) -- with the current production driver I've had no
problems. The 3C905 give us loads of trouble with regards to dual
booting -- seems fine in a linux only box, but the EEPro is
probably the ethernet card with the best chance of working under
Linux, especially since Linus uses one.
