I got a call back from an engineer at AMD who said he would be glad to
fill me in on AMD's SMP. Unfortunately, he was about to leave his
office for a business trip, and promised to call me on his return.
In my consulting practice I work with a number of the major Silicon
Valley firms, and my experience is that if you find one individual who
is willing to be an contact, you can generally get whatever non
confidential information you need.
NOTE TO AL COX: I will bring up the AMD halt issue AFTER I get the SMP
info/contact(s) we need --> ONLY IF you think it is still necessary -->
IF the newer AMD chips don't have the bug should we bother to press the
issue?
Cheers,
Lyle
