Differing bogomips are usually contributed to either non-matched cpu's, one cpu
not having it's cache enabled, or a buggy BIOS implementation of the SMP specs.
Are the two cpu's of same stepping?
Have you tried both SMP 1.1 and 1.4 in the BIOS?
Did you enable MTRR in the config: CONFIG_MTRR=y ?
Sorry I'm not really able to help you directly, but I know that the Soyo 6KD
board run Linux SMP, kernels upto 2.1.128, with no trouble.
A friend of mine used it for 3/4 year with two BIOS upgrades, so my guess is
that Soyo will eventually release BIOS upgrades for D6iba - which of course
doesn't make you any more happy, if you can't get the board going in the mean
time 8-(
Actually, I have a good offer on my friends used 6KD, but I've been holding back
while checking out the D6iba board. Going through the linux-smp archives reveals
lots of problems with various other boards and vendors.
My friend tells me that Soyo have responded to his BIOS related questions;
personally, I've mailed them twice without getting an answer.
Soyo have a nice web site, though; doesn't seem like they're without support.
I'd very much appreciate if you'd forward any mails about this issue.
