I've discovered that using the ne2k-pci driver with my ne2000 nic will
lockup after about 30meg transfered on my 10baseT lan. If I use the ne
driver this doesn't happen.
I've been in touch with Donald Becker, the author of the driver. He
says the code is pretty much identical with the two drivers, except
the ne2k-pci, does 32bit transfers and allows IRQ sharing.
So it sounds to me like a IRQ sharing problem, and that tends to be an
SMP related issue.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
I heard Alan Cox and someone else did some kind appletalk of patch to
the ne2000 card in the for ac3 last kernel. Did that make it into 130?
Would that have helped?
