All taken with all, I'd say it's pretty clear that RedHat is
a desktop-only distribution.  They don't seem to care at all 
about the "server" or even "workstation" market.  If you want 
a pre-packaged installation for your "server" (i.e. SMP or
something else "custom" and "non-standard") you'll just 
have to look elsewhere.  Nothing wrong with that I guess,
but it means we might as well not discuss RedHat at all in
linux-smp.

Question:  Are there any distributions that at least pretend
to support SMP?  Are there any "server" oriented distributions?

I've used Slackware, because it's easiest for me to customize,
and I figure a "server" is supposed to be highly customized.
