Jeff,

        I strongly suspect you are going to need the Ditto Dash 
        add-on card.  I don't think a standard issue floppy controller
        will work with the DittoMax.

        You may want to try ftape-4.03-pre2 I had much better success
        with it, although I can't say precisely why, I have not
        yet compared the version to see what may have caused the joy.

        Also be aware that motherboard problems may be an issue, I
        could not get anything to work on my P75, yet my P233 cruises
        with the exact same kernel and ftape configurations. I think it
        was speed related so you *should* be OK.

        Do try the new version, I found it much better.  Hope this helps.
