Kevin,

First, the zqft0 device is gone so far a "builtin" support is
concerned. Claus does provide a "decompressor" module that need to be
insmodded to read your compressed tapes. But here's the main problem -
you don't give us any information with which to help you. What kernel
are you running? What type of tape drive? Do you have an accellerator
card? If so, what type and what are the I/O, IRQ and DMA settings?
What is the speed and processor type of your system? How are you
insmodding the ftape modules? What did you have for breakfast this
morning? Why do dogs bark at ambulance sirens? (well, we might not need
those last two!)

This is the info we need to help you with your problem.

Matt,

You also don't offer much in the way of info, but I can tell you this:
The Ditto MAX requires that you have at least a 166MHz P5 with nothing
else happening to function properly. Don't even attempt to run this
drive under X11 unless you have a 233MHz P5 or a PII/K6-2 system. I can
run a Max on a Dash DX card at 3000Kps and FIFO set to 14 with success
on my 166MHz Toshiba ONLY if I am on a console and am the only person
on. The timing of this configuration is so sensitive that simply
running GPM and moving the mouse while the backup is occurring will
cause the drive to reposition due to a buffer underrun.

The only place that I can get the Max to run under X11 without the
underrun issue is on our PII-300 systems, and various K6-2 300+ systems.
