Hi Folks,
I upgraded my machine to a Pentium 233Mhz since most of you that have
helped said the Cyrix PR150+ wasn't fast enough to handle the Ditto Dash
card. So here I am. I have the system back up. Compiled ftape-4.03-pre-2,
isapnptools 1.17, the latest modutils. I can retention the tape, eject the
tape and get status. I have tried 5 different cartridges, 3 7gb sizes, one
1.8gb size and one 2.5gb size. All tell me they aren't formatted. Oh yeah I
have ftape-tools 1.07 installed.
Am I missing something?
the isapnp goes fine and when I do:
. insert
from the ftape directory I don't get any error messages. The console screen
says it is installing a QIC-117 drive.
I hope this can be salvaged if not I guess I am going to move onto the next
option an IDE Tape or SCSI Tape.
Thanks to all of you who have helped in this. Below is the last set of

I am out of tapes (5 of them). Also there is a white plastic arm on the
tray. Should that be moved over the cartridge? I have tried this so many
ways I am starting to see these things in my dreams.
Thanks again.
I am going to post this to the list to see if anyone else has an idea.
