Why not tar?
This is what i used on my old linux box (before redhat) and it worked
great. I did in fact lose my harddrive and the restoring from my
tar'ed backup saved all my data.
What is afio?
The two main reasons we are using linux is it's reliability and cost.
It's difficult spending $100 on BRU especially at a small
univeristy.
