I've just signed up so forgive me if my question has already been
discussed on numerous occasions.
I've just bought an HP Colorado (ATAPI, 8GB) and it works beautifully
-- or almost.
When I try to tar a smallish directory tree, say 'tar -cvf /dev/ht0
/home/erik', it works fine, but every time I try 'tar -cvf /dev/ht0
/' or 'tar -cvf /dev/ht0 *' I get the following error message, which
to me is as clear as Ancient Aramaic:
Tar: Error exit delayed previous errors
Surely there's a way to backup my whole HD without having to process
each directory individually?
