I have to correct Paul at this point: ftape-4.x supports 2 ASICS:

a) Colorado Trakker (was correct)
b) MicroSolutions PPT (NOT Shuttle)

At least the Seagate software I was testing was able to drive my
Iomegas Ditto Easy 3200 with any of the following drivers:

a) Aiwa, PPT
b) Conner, PPT
c) PPT Device (Micro Solutions), PPT

The "PPT Device (Micro Solutions), Shuttle PPT did not work.

AFAIK, a)-c) really use the same Micro Solutions driver, so aren't
different. DOSEmu only showed slight differences, so I believe there
are at most initialization problems with ftape.

In case you are able to run Seagate's DOS software, it would be nice
if you could check which driver versions work with your tape drive.

To configure the QBACKUP program, click on the "Configure" button in
the main screen, then on the "Backup Devices" button in the
"Configure" screen, and then DON'T click on the "Start Test" button,
but use the "Settings" button.

Then you'll find a "Manufacturer" menu, where you can choose between
the various flavours of floppy tape drive interfaces.

Specifically -- with my QBackup version -- I find the entries

Aiwa, PPT
Conner, PPT
Iomega, PPT (Original)
PPT Device (Micro Solutions), PPT
PPT Device (Micro Solutions), Shuttle PPT

You should be able to run the QBackup program with DOSEmu-0.98.4 as
already mentioned in my previous response.
