Hello,

- make sure, ftape is n o t compiled into the kernel (when compiling
a new kernel, first step is make xconfig: And there must not be enabled
  "ftape support".
- under kernel 2.2.x it is necessary to use those "unstable" drivers
  that can be found at

        http://www.math1.rwth-aachen.de/~heine/ftape/archives/ftape-4.x/unstable/

and they are quite stable (contrary to the directory name). This will
solve your "struct no member" problem.

at least as far as those unstable drivers are concerned I would guess,
/etc/conf.modules should look like this

alias char-major-27 zftape
options ftape ft_fdc_driver=ftape-internal,none,none,none ft_tracings=4,4,4,4,4
options ftape-internal ft_fdc_base=0x370 ft_fdc_irq=6 ft_fdc_dma=2

...assuming your values are correct. Anyone who knows better,
please correct me, as I am not familiar with that seagate thing.

Well, at least, we got your mail...

Hm, maybe you post your mail from at home, have set up "masquerading" regarding
your sendmail, but this is not enough. Not only the header's "From: " has to
be a valid email address (CS in sendmail.cf - from memory, so may be wrong),
but also the "From " of the envelope must contain a reachable email address
(Mail reader mutt, for example: Muttrc:

 set sendmail="/usr/sbin/sendmail -oem -oi"

At least this was the problem I myself stumbled over, but only with
linux-tape, not with any other mailing list.

Bye, Juergen.
