Well, at least the ditto max external (parallel port) works under linux:
I myself tried it under redhat 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 6.0 with
- kernel 2.0.30 - 2.0.36
- kernel 2.1.131 - 2.2.10

If you want to have a look at my own setup, have a glance at

http://www.stud.uni-bayreuth.de/~a0037/ditto.html

I got the impression that it is a good idea to state explicitly io and irq.
Apart from that: You know, that you have to load three modules:
- ftape
- zftape
- bpck-fdc

?

Under all of the kernels 2.2.x it is necessary to use those
UNSTABLE drivers, which are quite stable anyway.

If all of this does not help, show us your /etc/conf.modules.

By the way: I never got that bloody ditto working under my notebook...

I haven't managed to get it working under FreeBSD - but I have only
very, very little experience about FreeBSD 3.2R. Nevertheless, I believe
it doesn't work under FreeBSD at all.

Bye, bye, Juergen.
