The last news here was that this drive does not (yet) work with Linux.
Apparently it has a weird interface, ATAPI-like on the surface, but
underneath quite different, so it doesn't really work like you'd expect
an ATAPI tape to work. Reportedly, the IDE-tape driver developer (and
maybe Tim at EST??) were working together and with a contact at AIWA
to resolve the problems.

Anyone got any newer (or perhaps more accurate??) info ?

I wouldn't mind buying one of these things myself, they're really rather
inexpensive. Unfortunately, like most inexpensive tape drives the media
are rather dear. (Why is it that expensive drives use low cost media and
vice-versa??)
