Sorry if this is an old question but I am just joining this mailing
list.

I am trying to use ftape with my Iomega Easy 3200 Parallel Port tape
drive.

I downloaded and installed the lastest snapshot from September 7 and I
think I have everything installed correctly.

My conf.modules file looks like:

alias char-major-27 zftape
options ftape ft_fdc_driver=bpck-fdc,none,none,none

When I try to run the first test, I get the following:

> ftmt -f /dev/qft0 status
> ftmt: /dev/qft0: Device not configured

What does this mean? I installed the ftape_tools rpm that is
ftape-tools-1.07-1. The unstable snapshot from September 7 of the
ftape-tools would not compile. Do I need the latest ftape-tools to go
with the latest ftape? Should my parallel port be set to something
which it isn't in the BIOS?

Any help would greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Mike
