AAAUUUGGGHH!!!!! Bug in ftape 3, and vtblc: Vtblc may look like it rewinds the tape before printing the volume contents. It doesn't. Neither does the ftape driver force the non-raw device to be rewound after writing data and prior to opening the raw device. In summary: Running vtblc after dumping data to the tape will LOSE the data that you dumped to the tape AAAUUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! (Well, time to load ftape 4.03-unstable and see how it works :-)
