Actually, the ftape driver included in the 2.2.x source is 3.04d, just
as 2.08 is included in the 2.0.x source.  I've used the built-in 3.04
in 2.2.x kernels with a Ditto Insider 3200, but it is somewhat
unreliable, although I don't know how much of this is due to the drive
itself.  I also used the built-in 2.08 with this drive and the
accelerator card, but 3.04 was better under 2.0.x kernels.  I've also
noticed that the performance was somewhat a function of what backup
software I was using (tob, which uses afio, seemed to work fairly
well).
