Well, if you read my mail: I don't get that far. Simply removing the tape
from the drive without issuing any command except loading the driver
causes the blinking led problem.
The thing I don't get is that that appearantly I am the only person either
using or having problems with the T3000 drive in years, as the problem is
in the ftape drivers since version 3.0x
