Ok, since my last post I have managed to get the Iomega Ditto 2Gb to
work under linux using the latest? (ftape-4.x-1999_09_11) version of
ftape with SuSE 6.3 and kernel 2.2.14.
Yeah, its slow! I mean I didn't expect it to suddenly get better moving
from Windoze to linux its still the same drive and the same parallel
interface!
It doesn't seem to freeze the whole machine though, now I've moved it
from Doze to Linux! I can still carry on using my machine!! This rocks!!
Comparing it with my SCSI drive its kind of painful! but nevertheless a
useable bit of kit!
Do people generally find that if you use new(er) media the shoeshining
is kept to a minimum?
