Hi Lars,

guess that "SEC: UNCLASSIFIED" appeared because some nice person
subscribed to this list from within an account inside the Australian
government (reading the error messages I got from some gov.au mail
server).

No. Because QIC-117 is the interface protocol for all floppy
streamers, while QIC-80 ... QIC-3020 referes to the kind of tape
cartridge and tape drive.

Reading your first email I suggest you place the following settings in
/etc/modules.conf (assuming you are using the latest version which is
ftape-4.03)

alias char-major-27 zftape
options ftape ft_fdc_driver=ftape-internal
options ftape-internal ft_fdc_base=0x370 ft_fdc_irq=6 ft_fdc_dma=2

With older versions you probably have to add

alias char-major-27 zftape
options ftape ft_fdc_base=0x370 ft_fdc_irq=6 ft_fdc_dma=2

Or load the driver "by hand" with

insmod ftape ft_fdc_driver=ftape-internal
insmod ftape-internal ft_fdc_base=0x370 ft_fdc_irq=6 ft_fdc_dma=2
insmod zftape

Cheers

Claus
