logfile starting... (I just "grep tape"ed it, think that should be enough... ?

after "modprobe zftape" (which loads ftape, ftape-internal correctly...)
------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------

now I tried something like "tar -cvf /dev/nqtf0 *"

after a few seconds:
---------------
Jul 9 00:32:07 lars kernel: [025] 0 ftape-ctl.c (ftape_activate_drive) - No tape
drive found.
Jul 9 00:32:09 lars kernel: [027] 0 ftape-ctl.c (ftape_enable) -

failed: -19.
Jul 9 00:32:09 lars kernel: [029] 0 zftape-init.c (zft_open) - _zft_open failed.
---------------

so i decided to unload....
---------------
Jul 9 00:35:40 lars kernel: [030] zftape-init.c (cleanup_module) - successful.
Jul 9 00:35:40 lars kernel: zftape successfully unloaded.
---------------
The output seems to be the same whether the tape drive is connected to the "external"
controller or the FDC.

Hope this will help... <sigh> :)
BTW, thanx for the nice support in here!
